The kit contains everything you need to accurately test for pH, chlorine and bromine all in a convenient sturdy PVC storage case.  pH and chlorine/bromine should be tested in all pools at least weekly when in use. Kit contains testing vials 20 DPD1 Test tablets (free chlorine or free bromine) 15ml bottle of Phenol Red test solution Instructions for use Replacement reagents These are available for purchase as required  Phenol Red  DPD1 Test Tablets (10 tablets per sheet) Tests free chlorine/bromine DPD4 Test Tablets (10 tablets per sheet) Test total chlorine Testing instructions and tips Keep out of reach of children Store in a cool dry place, avoid sunlight Replace solution annually Chlorine/Bromine Test Rinse and fill CL tube to mark with pool or spa water. Take water sample from elbow deep below the water surface and away from the return outlets. Avoid touching the tablet with your fingers.  Drop one DPD #1 tablet into CL tube.  Replace cap and invert serveral times until tablet dissolves. Free Chlorine Reading (CL) Immediately compare tube colour with colour markings.  Ideal reading is 1.5-3.0 ppm or up to 6ppm if the pool water is particularly warm eg 28 degrees celsius or hotter. Bromine Reading (BR) Compare tube colour markings.  Ideal reading for swimming pool 3.0-6.0ppm, spa/hot tub 3.4ppm to 4.5ppm. pH Test Rinse and fill pH tube to mark with pool or spa water.  Take water sample from elbow deep below the water surface and away from return outlets. Add 5 drops of Phenol Red solution into pH tube. Replace cap and invert serveral times to mix Phenol Red solution with water. Compare tube colour with adjacent colour markings to determine pH reading. Ideal pH reading is 7.2-7.6
